First Night NCAAF--- Bet Now, lines are on the move!

Well its finally that time of the year. Im getting this picks in a little early because the lines have been moving like crazy~

Once again im going to tread lightly at the start of the year, but might go big on a couple of games :).

South Carolina @ NC State (-4.5)- I really like NC State in this game mainly because i dont think South Carolina can compete with many teams on the road. This will definetly be a redemption game for NC State as well since South Carolina blanked them at home 34 - 0 last year, but that was a diffrent Wolfpack team. The Wolfpack finished the season strong last year by winning 4 of their last 5 games including impressive wins vs Miami, Wake Forest, and on the road vs the Tar Heels. On the other side the Gamecocks falltered down the stretch losing their last 3 including a dismantling by lowly Iowa. Look for NC State to pull away early in the 2nd half and cruise to a double digit victory.
~ 3 Star Bet

Oregon (14) +4 @ Boise State (16)- This is another game that jumped out at me very quickly because to me the superior team is getting points. I know Boise State is at home, but i think Oregon is a much better football team, and there getting points!! It's hard to look at Boise State's numbers last year because of the conference they play in. They had tons of easy games on their schedule, and at the end of the year when playing a decent team (TCU) they lost. Other than that they really had a cake walk the whole way. On the other hand Oregon plays in the fast improving PAC 10, with a lot of solid teams. They ended the year on fire by winning 4 in a row, and 6 of their last 7. That includes some solid wins at Oklahoma State, at Arizona State, and at Oregon State. This Oregon team is going to make some noise this year!

MLB Picks 8/29

Didnt have time to post yesterday because i was busy at work, but hoping to have a little better day with baseball. Im still betting small on baseball as the football season gets close. Ill pick it back up once the playoffs start, but i will still post a couple plays. Dont have time for long write ups, so ill give it to ya quick.

Colorado/San Fran Under 8.5- Zito and Marquis have both been lights out lately with Marquis posting a 2.14 ERA in his last 3 and Zito has been even better posting a 1.59 ERA in his last three. The Giants are under the total in a lot of there games, and so is the head umpire with 11 overs and 17 unders this season behind the plate.
* 3 star bet

Houston/ Arizona Over 10- A little bit of the opposite in this game. Norris has been awfull lately with over an 11.00 in his last 3 starts, Garland has been a little bit beetter but still has posted an era over 5.00. The man behind the plate has called 15 overs and only 11 unders on the year. Look for a high scoring affair.
*3 Star bet

Good night and good luck

MLB + Preseason NFL 8/27

Sorry for the couple week break, but the end of a long minor league baseball season can really beat on you. I have also decided to focus more on making pick than keeping track of units. Im just going to make the pick and tell you why! I will be giving a star rating between 1 and 5 for every game. I will tread lightly on baseball until the playoffs since football is right around the corner. Im not actually betting on the Eagles tonight, just thought i would throw some flare into the post :). Im not sure how Vick will do tonight, but it should be interesting to see Philladelphia's reaction to his arrival in the City of "Brotherly Love"

White Sox/Red Sox Under 9.5- The White sox have been down right pathetic on offense lately. I think just about anyone could shut them down at this point, and pair that with Tazawa who has a 2.81 ERA in his last three starts and it should be low scoring. On the other hand John Danks has been masterfull lately trying to dig the Sox out of their hole posting a 1.66 ERA in his last three starts. The first two games of this series have gone under, and seven of the Sox last 8 games have also gone under the total. * Three Star Bet

A's/ Angels Under 9.5- Like the White Sox the A's have been under the total 6 of their last seven games, and the first two games of this series. Cahill has posted a 3.15 ERA in his last three starts while Santana has been even more impressive posting a 2.57 ERA in his last three. Santana started his DL comeback rough, but has settled in nicely for the Halos. Look for this to be a low scoring battle. * Two Star Bet

Colorado -134- I normally dont take games with this much chalk, but i love the Rox in this game. I thought about run line, but decided to be smart. This will not only be Padilla's first start off of the DL, but also his first start for the first place Dodgers. On the other side of the spectrum De La Rosa has really turned it on during the Rockies historical run. He has won 12 games since June 1st, and has posted a 3.26 ERA in his last three games. The Hot Rox have won 8 of 10 games, and are right in the thick of things in the race for the NL West Crown. Look for the rockies to pull even closer. * 3 Star Bet

Rams/Bengals Under 34- Im not a big preseason better, but thought i would take a stab at a total while im anxious! Both starting quarterbacks will be out for this game, and their back ups arent anything to get excited about. The starting quarterbacks for this "slow paced" footbal game will be JTO (J.T. O Sullivan) and the infamous Kyle Boiler. To be blunt, they both are fucking awful. Neither of these teams have much depth at running back early, so look for a lot of defense. *1.5 Star Bet

Good Luck and Good Night!!

MLB + Preseason NFL 8/14

Yesterdays Recap- Pretty slow day yesterday, and i really didnt bet many units. Was 1-2 overall, and down 2 units total. I did have a nice easy hit on the Phillies game, which is always nice. My YTD total is up 5.41 units.

Im going to throw in a couple preseason football games today, and see how that works out for me. Ive never really bet too many preseason games, but a buddy of mine gave me some nice advice in picking some winners! Kind of in a hurry today, so the write ups wont be as long as normal.

Boston Red Sox @ Texas Rangers- To me this line is ridiculous! Im not saying the Rangers are a "lock" by any means, but i dont know how they can be this big of a dog. Kevin Millwood is having a solid year, and has a 2.57 ERA in his last three starts, but thats not why i love this game. I know Lester has had a pretty decent year, but i dont think he will change this trend. The Rangers have OWNED the Red Sox this season winning 4 in a row and 5 of 6 on the year including a sweep in Texas. They have also won 5 of their last seven with the red sox losing 7 of their last 10.
~ Texas Rangers +130; Bet 2 units to win 2.6.

Houston Astros @ Milwaukee Brewers- This will be a quick write up because its pretty much a play on just the pitcher for the Astros. Rodriguez has been stiffling his opponets all year, and won this very same matchup vs Gallardo last week. This should be a very low scoring game, so you might want to parlay the under if your feeling a little crazy.
~Astros +119; Bet 2 units to win 2.38

Minn. Vikings @ Indy Colts- I played both of my NFL plays today based on QB depth, and whos really fighting for a job! This is a test trial so i would tread lightly. The Viking have a pretty deep staff at the QB position, and all three of them have something to prove. They will start with Rosenfels, then Jackson, and finish off with John David Booty. Also the Colts will only play Peyton 1 or 2 series at most, then have to ride with Sorgi and some other stiff.
~Vikings -1, Bet 2.2 Units to win 2

Denver Broncos @ San Fran 49ers- Pretty much the same concept, except with a minor twist. The Broncos are very thin at QB, and they are throwing out a brand new qb in Orton, and also dont have their #1 receiver. This will be a learning game for Denver for sure. On the other hand Shaun Hill and Alex "small hands" Smith are having an intense battle for the starting gig. Hill will lead off with Alex coming in prob during the second quarter. There will then be a battle for the 3rd qb job with Huard facing off with Ball State stand out Nate Davis. This should be an interesting preseason for the 49ers with all those unanswered questions still looming.
~49ers -2.5; Bet 2.2 Units to win 2

Good Luck and Good Night

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Yesterday's Recap- I had another solid day yesterday going 3-1 picking up another 3.4 units. Im now 6-2 in my last 8 picks, and up 7.41 Units since posting on the site!I had a couple close calls yesterday including the Giants 2 run walk off ( i had the run line). Its nice to win a couple you shouldn't every once in a while!

Not as many games to look at today because its Thursday, but found some good ones!

Detroit Tigers @ Boston Red Sox- This might be a little homer pick being a huge White Sox fan, but i really think the Red Sox will finish off this sweep (bringing the REAL sox only 1.5 games back). Bucholtz's numbers are deceiving this year because he has only had 1 bad start since being called up. He gave up 7 runs a couple starts ago but besides that has never given up more than 3 earned in a game. Also Verlander is a completely diffrent pitcher on the road. He ha one of the best home ERA's in baseball posting a 2.11, but is fastly aproaching a 5 ERA on the road. Look for the Red Sox to break out the brooms.
~ Red Sox -110, Bet 2.2 Units to win 2

Texas Rangers @ Cleveland Indians- This will be my play of the day, as you can tell from the picture. This has a lot to do with the pitching matchup, as Sowers (pictured above) has been on fire lately. He has posted a 1.80 ERA in his last three starts. He is also a full run better at home than on the road. On the flipside Feldman is in a tailspin posting over a 7 ERA in his last three starts. Cleveland has been playing very well lately against some tough teams, and winning 5 of their last seven. Look for them to take anoter series today in this matinee game.
~ Indians +100, Bet 3 Units to win 3

Philadelphia Phillies @ Chicago Cubs- This is another game that im picking because of the pitching matchup, but im going with a total on it. I try to bet a lot of totals because they always seem to jump out at meet. For example on this one Cliff Lee is 2-0 with a 1.12 ERA since joining the defending world champs. You can go even further back and look at his numbers and notice how well he has been pitching. Dempster alls looks like he might be turning a corner. He has posted a 3.71 ERA since coming off the DL, and looks like he is regaining last years form. This total is set way to high in my opinon.
~ Under 9.5 -110, Bet 2.2 Units to win 3

Good Luck and Good Night!

MLB Picks 8/12~

Yesterday's Recap- I had a great day yesterday going 3-1 and picking up 5.46 units. I was able to rebound from the other days loss and get back up 4.01 units on the year with a total record of 4-2. My play of the day did hit rather easily as i hit the over before the 5th inning!

Looks like a nice slate of action today, thrown in with some "something to do at work games".

Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees- I really didnt have a strong lean on this game, but when i checked in on the under it looked good. Both of these pitchers have been pitching pretty well lately with Romero winning 2 of his last 3 starts, and Burnett has also been good posting a 3.26 ERA on the season. The Yankees have been under the total four of the last five games, and i think that should continue. The only thing that worries me is Romero, but i think he should have a nice day. Hopefully we get a day game "getaway" lineup as well.
~ Under 9.5; Bet 2.2 units to win 2

Oakland Athletics @ Baltimore Orioles- When i first glanced at this one the over scared me because of how high the total was, but then i crunched some numbers and loved it! Mazzaro started this season hot after his call up, but has been god awfull since. He is 3-8 on the year with a 5.70 ERA, and to make it worse has a 9.00 ERA in his last three starts. Berken has actually been worse!! He is holding a 2-9 record with a 6.72 ERA on the season, and has over a 7 ERA in his last three starts. Both teams have been going over the total with the A's going over 5 of their last 6 and the Orioles doing it in 4 of their last 6. This game should go WAY over the total.
~ Over 10.5; Bet 3.3 units to win 3

LA Dodgers @ San Francisco Giants- This game is simple, its because of the pitching. The Dodgers are throwing Jeff Weaver today who has been bounched around more than a basketball this season. He has been back and forth from the roation to the bullpen all year long. He hasnt had a bad year, but cant keep up with Timmy! Cy Tim is 2-0 with an 0.75 ERA in his last three starts, and seems to be getting better every game. Dont worry about the Giants beat up bullpen with Tim on the mound, he loves finishing his games. I dont see the Dodgers sweeping this one in San Fran.
~ Giants -1.5 (+105); Bet 2 Units to win 2.1

San Diego Padres @ Milwaukee Brewers- This game kind of snuck up on me once i looked at the starting pitchers home/away splits. Villanueva is absolutely awful at home this year. He has a very solid 2.86 ERA on the road with an abysmal 10.80 Home ERA. That is almost an 8 run diffrence!! San Diego has been playing a little better as of late, and the offence has been clicking. Hopefully they can put some runs up for Kevin Correria who has a 2.45 ERA in his last three starts. The Brewers have also been slumping dropping 4 of their last 6 games.
~ Padres + 130, Bet 2 units to win 2.6

Good Luck and Good Night!

MLB Picks 8/11~

Yesterday's Recap- The day started off good when the A's came out of the gates strong and dominated the lowly Orioles winning by a final of 9-1. I was up 1.55 units on this play.

Then the Giants had one bad inning costing them the game and costing me 3 units.

Overall i was down 1.45 units on the day, but today should be great with a nice slate of action. There were a lot of leans today, and i was able to get it down to 4 solid plays. I will be wagering 9 units today, so be on your toes!

Texas Rangers @ Cleveland Indians- This should be a pretty low scoring affair, almost even played the under as well. Both of these pitchers have been pitching very well lately, but i think Laffey has the edge being at home. He has a 1.86 ERA at home on the year, with a miserable 5.45 on the road. Though its not as dramatic, Nippert (who has jumped back and forth from the pen) had a flawless 0.98 at home, with a still decent 3.71 on the road. The tribe have been playing good ball lately winning 5 of 7, and should make it 6 of 8 tonight. If your feeling really lucky, take the run line.
~ Indians -115, Bet 2.3 units to win 2

Kansas City Royals @ Minn Twins- This is my favorite game of the day, and the more i looked into the more i loved it. Both of these teams have been going over a lot lately, and this pitching matchup should not stop that. Kyle Davies is 3-8 with a 6.37 ERA, and an even worse 14.29 in his last three starts. Blackburn is having a decent year, but has been getting worse by posting a 6.48 ERA in his last three starts. The Royals have hit six straight overs while the Twins have hit 7 of 9, with one of them being a push. I like this game to go over the mark before the 7th inning even begins.
~ Over 9.5 runs, Bet 3.3 Units to win 3

Houston Astros @ Florida Marlins- When rolling through the games today this one caught my eye early, and the numbers made the deciding factor. Oswalt, even though coming off an injury, has a 2.04 ERA in his last three starts, and though his wins arent there hes having a decent year. Volstad is doing the reverse lately, and seems to be losing his touch posting a 5.51 in his last three starts. I think there is too much value in Oswalt, and i had to overlook the fact the Marlins have been on a mini streak.
~ Astros +115, Bet 2 Units to win 2.3 units

Philadelphia Phillies @ Chicago Cubs- Once i really dove into the numbers on this game it kind of shocked me. I went into the game thinking this might be a game the Cubs would take, but then i looked at some splits. J.A. Happ has posted a 1.72 ERA on the road, and a 3.77 at home. So he has been much better on the road, but the weird thing is Harden has had the same thing working for him. He has a 2.28 ERA on the Road and a 6.84 at home. This was a pretty shocking stat for me, but im going to follow it! Look for the phillies to stop their string of bad baseball tonight.
~ Phillies +123, Bet 2 Units to win 2.46 units

There it is, should be a big night.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD NIGHT!

MLB Picks- 8/10

I will judge all of my games on a unit scale with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. I wont actually tell you how much money i am betting, but will let you know how confident i am on each and every game. I also will not just bet games to bet games, some days i will like 5 games and some days i will only like 1. When betting baseball i always try to find value so im not going to be betting heavy favorites unless i want to test out the run line.

Todays Picks-

LA Dodgers @ San Francisco Giants- This was the first game that jumped at me today for several reasons. First off the Giants have been playing pretty decent baseball lately winning 5 of their last 8 games while the Dodgers have dropped 3 of their last 4. I also think Sanchez is finally turning into a more consistent pitcher as his ERA continues to drop. Sanchez has won 2 of his last 3 starts with an ERA of 3.57 during that span. He is also dramatically better at home then on the Road. His home ERA sits at 3.26 and his road is 5.53, so you can see he is way more comfortable in front of the home crowd.
~ Giants +106 Bet 3 units to win 3.18

Oakland A's @ Baltimore Orioles- This will be a small play for me, but it has great value. Gio Gonzalez, the former top prospect for the White Sox, has been finally putting everything together lately. He is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his last three starts, and has been overpowering at the plate striking out at least 6 in those starts. On the other hand Guthrie has been struggling mightily on the bump. His ERA is over 6 in his last three starts, and over 5 for the season. Also the A's have won 5 of their last 7 while the Orioles have dropped five of their last seven. With these kind of value its hard to lay off.
~ A's +155 Bet 1 Unit to win 1.55

Also had a small lean on the NYY/Tor game, and the Angels but decided to lay off.
